Communication

This page highlights how I've demonstrated competency as a communicator. This means evidence of my ability to connect and share ideas and thoughts through integrity and citizenship. I have communicated at NDSU through project collaborations, taking in and sharing feedback, and in serving as a leader through a fellowship.

Artist Presentation Art History

When it comes to putting five minds together to create a research paper and 10 minute video, communication is key. In Art History II, being part of a group researching the artist Hieronymus Bosch meant brainstorming creative methods, establishing roles, and working around each of our busy schedules. By the end, we had a cohesive paper and an informative yet entertaining video through our ability to communicate throughout the processes of the project.

Hyperrealism Reflection

Some of the best growth comes from listening to others. I have found great value in connecting with others and sharing ideas. This is a community and connection I haven't had before, and I have grown so much through the critiques and feedback I've received. To demonstrate this communication, I have attached a reflection on my hyperrealism assignment from my Foundations of Drawing course. This reflection points out the helpful feedback I have received from my peers and professor in pushing me on this drawing, and the value I found in just talking with people about our art as a collective. I look forward to taking advantage of critiques in benefitting the class as a whole in pushing their ideas, methods, and craft all through communication.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Fellowship

I want to walk away from NDSU as a leader. One of the ways I can do this now is by sharing my voice. I am proud to be a DEI Fellow, a fellowship whose mission it is to improve our School culture and community. It is my role to communicate ways in which this can be achieved through advocating for my peers and by programming education opportunities for a healthy learning culture.
